EXHAUST FAN HINGE KITS
ACCESS PANELS
We recommend that your exhaust fans have hinges installed in order to keep your fans from being damaged while
being cleaned. Without hinges the fans have to be pulled off and laid on there sides in order to properly clean the
bottoms. This can cause severe damage to the roof, the fans and to the balancing of the fan blades.
Proper access and access panels may be required in order to services the ducts in your system properly. Here is a
list of the codes that must be followed in order to adhere to the NFPA 96 fire codes.
EXHAUST FAN GREASE CATCHERS
- NFPA #96 states at 1-3.1.3: “All interior surfaces of the exhaust system
shall be reasonably accessible for cleaning and inspection purposes.”
- NFPA #96 4-5.1: Gauge of ductwork shall be 16-gauge carbon steel or 18-gauge
stainless steel.
- NFPA #96 4-3.1 states: “Access can be on the top or the sides, which-ever is
best for installation and cleaning. Access also must be installed in changes of
direction (around elbows).
- NFPA #96 4-3-4-2 states: “In horizontal sections, the lower edge of the opening
shall not be less than 1 ½” from the bottom of the duct.”
- Access openings are required every 12 feet (3.7m) and at every change
in direction of horizontal duct work, unless the duct is large enough for
personnel entry (approximately 24” x 24”).
Proper grease catchers will eliminate grease from leaking and damaging your roof. The kitchen exhaust technicians
must empty the catchers when servicing the system or they will fill up and over flow like they have in the pictures
below.
- WE DO NOT REQUIRE YOU TO SIGN A CONTRACT ON OUR BEHALF. WE ARE
CONFIDENT THAT OUR WORK WILL SPEAK FOR ITSELF AND THAT YOU WILL CONTINUE TO USE OUR SERVICES.
- IF A COMPANY DOES REQUIRE A CONTRACT, IT SHOWS THE LACK OF
CONFIDENCE THAT A COMPANY HAS IN ITS ABILITY TO SERVICE YOU PROPERLY IN ORDER TO RETAIN YOU AS A CUSTOMER.
